Being a naturist

Being a naturist:
6 pieces of advice for beginners

You’ve often dreamed about this, and finally you’ve decided to take the plunge and try the big naturism adventure. Have a new experience, reconnect with nature, rediscover yourself and better accept yourself as you are… Whatever the reasons that have led you to take this decision, these 6 pieces of advice will help you gently start out in the world of naturism.

What benefits does naturism give children?
1

Mentally prepare

Your body isn’t perfect. But neither are those of other naturists! Being naked means displaying your body hiding nothing, revealing your flaws to others. Before walking naked on the beach, you must accept your imperfections and disregard looks from others. Especially, don’t imagine they will judge you as soon as they see you appear in your birthday suit. Respecting nudity is one of naturism’s values. Keep this mind during your big débuts, as this thought will rid you of your hang-ups. A further oh so important detail: nudity is not synonymous with sexuality. Learn to differentiate these two notions, to make naturism seem part of everyday life.

2

Practise at home

Stripping off at home sometimes helps you to feel more comfortable in your own skin. If your first experience as a naturist makes you nervous, start to overcome this mental block at home. Walk around naked in your hallway, lounge or kitchen, at any time of day. However, please ensure you don’t pose naked in front of your neighbours in the garden or indeed on the balcony. They could expose you!

3

Practise at home

Generally, beginner naturists don’t dare to start the adventure alone. Moreover, their desire to enjoy the delights of naturism often comes to them through a loved one. If you have a friend who is already familiar with this way of life, ask them to accompany you during your first foray into naturism. Otherwise, choose people you can trust with whom you feel at ease. Some people discover naturism as a couple or family. Both options are possible, provided you’ve discussed it at length with your partner and children.

4

Select the appropriate beach

What better than the beach to dare to be naked? Preferably, favour a spacious spot, discreet, private and set aside for naturism. You will not be stared at by others and only be surrounded by other naturists.

5

Know the rules on your naturist campsite

Naturist resorts have their own social and hygiene rules, which holidaymakers are required to know and respect. Read them carefully before you go and when you’re there. If in doubt, speak to reception and feel free to make clear you’re a beginner naturist.

6

Start with a tanning session

There you go! You’re naked amongst other naturists, your towel your only baggage. Calmly spread it out on a sunlounger or on the sand and bask in the sunshine. Don’t forget sun protection, including your private parts. When you feel completely calm, stand up and go and cool down in the sea or swimming pool. Swimming will relax you and you’ll start to experience a highly delightful sense of wellness, not to say addictive!
